Things Are Not Always What They Appear To Be
We have all heard the saying that “The grass is greener on the other side” when someone is considering a change of careers, social or personal relationships. I once heard it said the reason was because there was a lot more fertilizer on that side of the fence.
I came across this poem a long time ago and I remembered the “light bulb” moment I had as I pondered and thought about it. This is totally true one of the most powerful things that shapes and makes us who we are.
I recently observed that one of my favorite NBA teams was not doing very well in the NBA playoffs and while others were trying to rub my face in their lack-luster performance, I discovered the true fan within me. I decided to
We live in challenging times no doubt about that. It seems our belief systems are challenged daily regarding virtually all aspects of our life. Our government by it’s spending and waste, our relationships strained by finances and doubts and even our self doubts as we face the trials of the trying to provide for our families. We used to be able to have confidence in our government, military and even spiritual leaders and it seemed as if we could rely upon them for direction and even comfort. Perhaps it’s time to
Our doubts are traitors, indeed. They sit there on your shoulder, bend your ear, and gently whisper negative thoughts into your head. Do you remember when you stood at the edge of the swimming pool as a child and had to be ‘convinced’ that it was safe to jump from the edge into the water. Normally, you weren’t just thrown in and told learn how to swim for fear you would sink to the bottom. Or how about the first time when you started to ride your very first 2 wheeled bicycle? Did your father or mother
The other day I was watching a television program called “Who do you think you really are”. It basically has a bunch of celebrities who go on a search to find out their ancestry.
I saw the program and was inspired to find out a little bit more about my ancestry and where I really come from. After a little bit of research I found that my family name Crowder comes from
No it’s not Iraq, Iran or North Korea
Now this is my personal opinion but I believe that the most dangerous and destructive nation in this world is ProcrastiNation. For hundreds even thousands of years procrastination has been destroying the lives of millions of people.
Whether it’s just a simple task or a task that could be life changing the average person would rather set aside that which could be done today for tomorrow.
Think about it in just your own life, how many times has procrastination robbed you of an opportunity?
If you haven’t realized Social Networking, more specifically Facebook has taken over the internet. I personally love Facebook because of the ability it gives me to network with like minded individuals who inspire me on a daily basis. Where else can you communicate directly with mentors, teachers and even guru’s whose books you have studied for years?
I have read, listened to and immersed myself in personal development from leaders such
The other day my wife and I were looking at our two little boys and looking to see whose eyes they had. My oldest boy has my eyes but my little boy has my wifes eyes. I started to think and ask mysef though whose eyes do we really have?
Now I am not speaking specifically of the color of our iris or the shapes of our eyes but more importantly how we perceive the world.
Do you see this world as a world of scarcity or a world of abundance?
Do you see your trials and setbacks as a blessing or as a curse?
These are the eyes I want to talk about today.
Life is so full of ups and downs but the only way that we will truly be able to enjoy and be happy in this life is if we see this life and everything in it as a blessing.
I am inspired by people who have overcome challenges or trials in their life, that choose to enjoy life in spite of their challenges.
I was recently watching a program that featured such a type of incident. I had seen this video many years ago but when I saw it this time I was even more inspired to enjoy my life in spite of my challenges.

The video was called “Tyler: A Real Hero” a true story about Tyler Wilkinson. The story starts off with a young boy who was very athletically blessed and he excelled in all areas of athletics. He was an All American athlete, had the cutest girl in town, and then suddenly his life was changed forever. Tyler was involved in a tragic car accident that left him as a paraplegic. He endured a challenging rehabilitation to be able to finally push a wheelchair all on his own.
Now this isn’t an uncommon story there are thousands of paraplegic’s in this world, but what inspired me about his story was that he never once asked “Why Me??”. Instead he has chosen to look through his optimistic eyes at life and see his trials and challenges as a blessing.
No matter what the challenge or trial if we can strive to see it as a blessing or an opportunity to learn from it we will be strengthened. Our character will grow, our integrity will become stronger and we will begin to live an inspired life.
Whose eyes will you choose to see life through?
Will you see your trials and challenges as blessings that only make you stronger?
Remember you were created to be Great, make sure you’re living up to your potential.
Together we CAN make a difference!!
A while back I came across this story and found value in it and wanted to share it with others that maybe are discouraged and need some inspiration. Remember that you are destined for greatness!!

The Frog Story
Author Unknown
A group of frogs were hopping contentedly through the woods, going about their froggy business, when two of them fell into a deep pit. The other frogs gathered around the pit to see what could be done to help their companions. When they saw how deep the pit was, the rest of the dismayed group agreed that it was hopeless and told the two unfortunate frogs in the pit that they should prepare themselves for their fate, because they were as good as dead.
Unwilling to accept this terrible fate, the two frogs tried with all of their might to jump out of the pit. The other frogs shouted into the pit that it was hopeless, and that they wouldn’t be in that situation if they had been more careful, more obedient to the froggy rules, and more responsible. They continued shouting that they should save their energy and give up, since they were already as good as dead.
But the two frogs continued jumping as hard as they could and became quite weary. Finally, one of the frogs took heed to the calls of his fellows. Spent and disheartened, he quietly resolved himself to his fate, lay down at the bottom of the pit, and died as the others looked on in helpless grief.
The other frog continued to jump with every ounce of energy he had, although his body was wracked with pain and he was completely exhausted. Once again, the crowd of frogs started yelling for him to accept his fate, stop the pain and just die. The weary frog jumped harder and harder and—wonder of wonders—finally leapt so high that he sprang from the pit. Amazed, the other frogs celebrated his miraculous freedom and then, gathering around him asked, “Why did you continue jumping when we told you it was impossible?”
Reading their lips, the astonished frog explained to them that he was deaf, and that when he saw their gestures and shouting, he thought they were cheering him on. What he had perceived as encouragement inspired him to try harder and to succeed against all odds.
The moral of the story: Turn a deaf ear to people who discourage you. With hard work and a positive attitude, you can do almost anything you set your mind to and overcome any situation, no matter how hopeless it may seem. You CAN do it!
